Driving sustainability forward together
At Heuver Group, sustainability is more than a priority - it is embedded in everything we do. Every day, we work towards a more sustainable, ethical, and inclusive future. Our commitment to ethical, responsible, and environmental business practices was recently proudly recognized with a bronze EcoVadis medal, reflecting our progress and motivation in building a more responsible, sustainable and greener future.
We take responsibility for our environmental impact, prioritize the well-being of our people and communities, and act with integrity and accountability. In the sections below, you will discover all steps we have taken – across operations, buildings, mobility, and culture – to turn our sustainability vision into action.

Our commitment to the environment
Greener energy for a brighter tomorrow
Energy plays a central role in our sustainable strategy and a greener future. That’s why we invest in solar power, smart storage, and energy efficiency. With over 3,600 solar panels at our headquarter in Hardenberg, our solar systems generate over 900,000kWh per year and help reduce our CO2 emissions by 482 tons annually – equivalent to the electricity use of 363 households.
While in 2024, 50% of our energy use came from renewable energy, in 2025, we are launching a pilot project with smart batteries to store up surplus solar power. This will help us avoid grid overload and optimize our use of energy to achieve our aim of producing our own energy by recycling at least 40% and reduce residual waste to below 3% by 2030. In the future, we plan to connect this system directly to the energy market and are committed to achieve greater self-sufficiency by continually enhancing into our solar energy production.

On the road to emission-free mobility
We’re transitioning to an electric fleet—our goal is for 90% of company cars to be electric by 2030, a shift that directly lowers fuel-based emissions. Supported by in-house charging stations and a sustainable lease policy, this shift is expected to reduce emissions by 200 tons of CO₂, around 14% of our 2024 footprint. Since 2022, we’ve tracked both direct and indirect emissions, and from 2025 we also include our value chain. This gives us a better picture and allows us to reduce emissions where they occur - even beyond our own operations.

Sustainable by design
Heuver Group’s new warehouse in Hardenberg is a prime example of sustainability in practice. Designed and built using the Dutch GPR method – based on the Dutch Municipal Practice Guideline – it shows Heuver’s commitment to environmental change by going beyond current sustainability standards. With an impressive Environmental Performance of Buildings (MPG) score between 0.42 and 0.46, it significantly exceeds the national average of newly built commercial properties (0.6-0.7). This makes this warehouse one of the most environmentally responsible buildings in its category. The facility incorporates advanced sustainability features such as LED lighting, reflective roofs, water-efficient technologies, and ecological features like bird nesting zones. This reflects our commitment to reducing environmental impact, but also our ambition to lead by example in sustainable building design.
Social responsibility at our core

An inclusive and supportive workplace
We are committed to make a positive impact, not only through the products and services we provide, but also by contributing to the well-being of our employees, partners, customers, and the environment. Therefore, social responsibility is deeply integrated in our core values, shaping our efforts to create a more inclusive, respectful, and sustainable future. Equal opportunities and diversity are key components of our organizational values. By 2025, we aim for at least 10% of our workforce to come from underrepresented groups, this includes people with migration backgrounds, employees aged 50+, women in technical roles, and persons with disabilities. Our leaders receive dedicated training on inclusion, unconscious bias, and diversity. Additionally, we promote lifelong learning through internal and external training, personalized development plans, and targeted programs. Through initiatives like the Heuver Academy and VakMans, we support continuous growth across all roles. We strive for every employee to participate in at least one training per year - whether digital, in-person, or through mentorship and leadership initiatives - to ensure professional development and enhance individual competencies.

Ethics & certification
Integrity in action
At Heuver Group, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment is a key priority. We maintain a Code of Conduct to promote ethical and transparent business practices, which all employees are required to follow. Violations are assessed by the CFO and can lead to disciplinary action. By 2025, we will implement a whistleblower policy and reporting system, and make ethics training mandatory for all employees—ensuring everyone can act with integrity and report concerns safely and anonymously.
We are also committed to a workplace free from discrimination, bullying, and intimidation, and actively promote respect, collaboration, and fairness. This open culture is supported by clear anti-corruption policies, supplier ESG screening, and plans for periodic ethics training across the organization.

Proudly recognized for sustainability
In 2024, Heuver Group has proudly received the Bronze Medal from EcoVadis for our achievements in sustainability. This outstanding award places us among the top 35% of all companies assessed globally by EcoVadis, an international platform that evaluates organizations based on their environmental performance, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement practices. Besides this recognition, we are also proud to share that all ING clients in the North-East Netherlands ranked us second in terms of sustainability performance. While this Bronze rating reflects our current commitment to sustainable business, we’re aiming even higher. Our goal is to achieve at least an EcoVadis Silver Medal by 2026.
In addition to our EcoVadis success, we are also officially certified with the MVOpuls label by VACO, the Dutch industry association for the tire and wheel sector. This certification confirms our commitment to environmental impact, social responsibility, and ethical business practices.

Focused on the customer experience
At Heuver Group, the customer experience is a central focus, followed by the “It’s All Round the Customer” program, which emphasizes convenience, service, product range, stock availability, and expertise. To gain insights into customer perceptions, the independent research agency EXCAP conducted a customer survey across the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and France. Main aspects this survey focused on included delivery, service, sustainability, and advisory support. The results indicated a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 59, which equates to a score of 9/10 points, reflecting strong customer satisfaction and a solid foundation for future improvement.
